Open Sea Sp. z o.o. is a Polish company specialising in the manufacture of steel and aluminium structures and in comprehensive engineering, production and logistics services for the maritime, offshore, wind energy and shipbuilding sectors. The plant in Świnoujście has modern technological facilities and a deep-sea quay, enabling direct handling of vessels and the delivery of large-scale projects.
The company is a certified manufacturer compliant with EN 1090 EXC-3, EN ISO 3834-2, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and is currently implementing the AQAP quality management system in preparation for projects for the defence and maritime industries. The team’s more than 35 years of experience covers the design, manufacture, assembly, quality control, transport and mobilisation of structures in Poland and abroad.
A key direction of development is shipbuilding capability — the production of aluminium hulls, sections, superstructures and deck equipment for European shipyards, and developing the capability to build complete turnkey vessels, including systems integration, outfitting, acceptance trials and preparing the vessel for handover to the end user.
In the field of security and defence, Open Sea is developing the WIDMO project — an autonomous, modular unmanned surface vehicle (USV) designed from scratch in Poland for military applications and maritime security. The vessel is intended to be part of a multi-domain operational system working with USV, UAV and ROV platforms, and to enable the integration of sensors, weapon systems, communications equipment and communication protocols according to user requirements. Proprietary Polish software and full ownership of the project’s intellectual property (IP) ensure technological independence, the ability to meet high cybersecurity requirements and further development of the platform. WIDMO is designed for series production and integration at the Open Sea plant in Świnoujście.
